Upendo House Hotel Zanzibar

The food in the restaurant was incredible, definitely the best we had in Zanzibar! With the lovely rooftop pool and cozy outdoor lounging areas, relaxation was easy. The only hiccup was a breakfast delay, but the eggs were worth the wait! 🥚

All of the staff was SUPER-FRIENDLY and helpful.

The management was attentive, as well as the staff.

The rooftop restaurant made our meals enjoyable with fresh, cooked-to-order dishes. I loved how close we were to stone town and the beach.

The experience was really amazing and I will come back. The hotel was wonderful, even so I stayed for 2 nights only. The location was excellent and stunning, just next door to Stone Town. Set in 5 minutes' walk to downtown, and the staff were helpful and qualified. The room was beautiful and modern, it had climate control, an individual safe and a mini-fridge-bar.

A Cozy Stay with Great Vibes

We spent 4 nights in a Superior Room with Balcony and thoroughly enjoyed the rooftop pool! The atmosphere was lively, and we felt at home. Watching the roof repairs added interest to our stay, though it would have been nice to have the full drinks menu available. Don't miss the local night market nearby!

location: the hotel was close to all the restaurants. we had a marvellous meal in the morning and some outstanding food at the roof top bar.

Loved the beautifully designed room, super clean with thoughtful amenities. The rooftop pool area had fine sunset views, perfect for winding down after a day of exploring. Breakfast offered a great variety, and the food was some of the best I've had on this trip. The noise from the bar outside in the evening was quite loud was nice. Although the staff was friendly and Benjamin was particularly helpful, the wifi connection fluctuated . It reminded me of a cozy, chic spot, but some minor improvements could enhance the experience further.

This place could've been lovely, but for the balcony view that wasn't a sea view at all and the laundry debacle, it was just mediocre. I expected at least a complimentary drink for my troubles, but alas! Just like my laundry, that never arrived. Don't expect much if you're craving actual service.

Room could use a bit more space!!! Air conditioning just barely cools the small room!!! WiFi connection unreliable!!! Is a television too much to ask for?

I was appalled by the lack of room cleanliness as there was a dead insect in the bathtub that went untouched throughout my stay. The unreliable Wi-Fi constantly disconnected. Even worse was the service. I had to repeatedly ask for basic necessities like towels and toilet paper, which took far too long to be addressed.
